The Detroit Auto Show 2011 is already announced to be a successful one. The big automakers of the world announced their presence at the show, and the officials anticipate somewhere between 30 and 40 premieres, numbers confirming the interest for the North American auto show.
Among the novelties, there are the world debuts of the 2012 Audi A6, 2012 Chrysler 300C, Ford Escape Concept, Honda Civic Concept and Toyota Prius MPV. As well, Porsche promises a spectacular model meant to mark the return of the Stuttgart automaker at Detroit Auto Show.
The officials hope for a lot of audience, compared to the one of the last year’s edition, when the gave away 4,536 press tickets, and sold 714,137 tickets, for the 27 world premieres.
Anyway there will be a lot of big absences this year, too. Among the big names of the industry missing Detroit Auto Show 2010 are Nissan, Infiniti, Mitsubishi, Rolls Royce, Fisker and Suzuki. Not even the Chinese automakers want a part in the NAIAS, the only exception being BYD, planning a tests session for electric vehicles on the US territory.via
