Tata Motors planning to launch a version of the Nano micro car with automatic transmission.
According to newspaper The Times of India, for the realization of this idea by the company is already negotiating with the Canadian CVTech, without producing speed transmission.
If agreement is reached, the Canadians will supply the Indian company with gearboxes, and for this purpose will build a new factory in India, near the factory where they assemble automobiles in the city Sinand Nano, Gujarat.
According to preliminary information, sales of Tata Nano with automatic transmission can start from this autumn. How this decision will affect the price of the car is still not known.
Nano is now sold in India with only one engine with 624 cm3 volume and power 34 hp The engine is combined only with manual gearbox with four grades.
