Everyone knows the danger of exceeding your vehicle tow rating. Hazards galore await those foolhardy enough to brush off manufacturer's recommendations, including nuked transmission, brakes and de fuego dived head gaskets, just to name a few. But what happens when a standard Duty pickup put up against something really monumental. You know, something like a 600-ton dump truck?
The crew of Top Gear Australia just wanted to know that, so they have a run-of-the-mill GM pickup, a serious tow rope strapped to the rear of the two platforms on loan and got down to business.
Or at least tried.
Measured on a short preview clip after the break, things did not go quite so imagine the TG team. It was not for lack of trying that big dump trucks move an inch as the driver of the pickup is not sent, which were certainly a pair of minty-fresh back tires to their blazing beyond.
